ONE TO ONE Children’s Reading Program

• For school aged children in grades 1-4
• A literacy tutoring program is available to any student whose teacher believes they need a reading-skills boost
• Currently offered in 13 Elementary Schools in the Central Okanagan School District
• Adult Volunteers go into the Elementary Schools and read with a struggling reader twice a week
• This is FREE for all children who qualify for the program

The ONE TO ONE Children’s Reading Program is supported by the First West Foundation, Decoda Literacy Solutions, Province of British Columbia, and the ONE TO ONE Reading Society. During the 2025-26 school year, Project Literacy helped 145 students improved their reading level.

SD23 School Teachers will recommend students who require additional reading support from Project Literacy Tutors.
