Community Care Garden Project!

Volunteers and Staff loading soil into Garden Boxes

Project Literacy has partnered with KCR Community Resources to create the Community Care Garden Project! The project will provide fresh vegetables to vulnerable families in Kelowna. Information on how each type of vegetable is grown will also be provided.

On Thursday, May 7, over 20 volunteers gathered to build 14 Garden Boxes, which will be used to grow vegetables over the summer. A community gardener, Dianne Bondaroff, is overseeing the planting and growing of the vegetables. Over the summer we are hoping to grown over 250 lbs of fresh vegetables. Volunteers are needed to help water and harvest the vegetables.
